====Moving an Asset==== These steps will help you move an asset. * Double-click the asset to begin orbiting it. * Hit the '/' button on the numeric keypad to start editing (login if required) * Adjust the camera so the grid appears along the plane you'd like to move the asset on. then... ===With The Keyboard=== Use the arrow keys on the numeric keypad to make adjustments to the assets location. If your keypad doesn't include arrows, here are the buttons you need to press. Note that all directions are //relative to the arrow that appears on the grid//. ^Button^Action^ |8|Up| |6|Right| |4|Left| |2|Down| You can use **shift** to increase the speed, or **ctrl** to decrease the speed of the changes. ===With the Mouse=== //Note that mouse-editing may not work with certain complex objects// You can click-and-drag on the object in the scene to begin moving it. You'll then be able to drop it anywhere on the grid that you like. ===Numerically=== Numeric controls appear at the left-hand side of the screen that allow you to specify the new location through numbers directly. While you can also do this from the web interface, it's nice to be able to see the results immediately, particularly when you're trying to find the right altitude. ===Examples=== {{:ardiveadmin:editwinder.png?400|}} Above, we are editing the location of a silo. Since we are looking from the //side//, the editing plane allows us to move the winder //up and down//, and //forward and back//. If we wanted to move it horizontally, we can change the camera to view it from the top. {{:ardiveadmin:editwindertop.png?400|}} Now we can use the numeric keypad buttons to move the object left, right, forwards and backwards. If we wanted to adjust the //height// of the object, we'd need to move the camera so we are looking at the silo from the side. Pushing 'up' would move the object further away from us, pushing 'Down' would bring it closer, and both left-and-right would move the asset left-and-right. Remember to hit 'Save' if you're happy with the new location, or 'Cancel' to revert back to the way the asset was before you began editing. {{ :ardiveadmin:moving.mp4 |}} [[Rotating an Asset]]\\ [[ardiveadmin:edit_controls|Back]]
