Text-File Historical Driver Information

Source Properties

Historical text sources are designed for situations where you have a spreadsheet or table of results with date-stamps.

When setting up the text file source, you'll be asked to specify…

OptionUse
PathThe full path to the text file
DelimiterThe 'delimiter' character that separates the columns. If blank, it is assumed to be 'tab'
Label ColumnThe number of the column that contains the 'name' of the value
Date ColumnThe number of the column that contains the date as text or as a UNIX epoch
Value ColumnThe number of the column that contains the value
TimezoneThe name of the timezone for the data. If blank, UTC is assumed.

Note that in the above values, the column count begins at '1'. A zero indicates that the column is not present in your file.

These are the options that appear when you link a property to a text data source…

OptionUse
LabelThe lookup label
2016-03-10 10:00 ROOM1_TEMP 12.5
2016-03-10 10:00 ROOM2_TEMP 16.95
2016-03-10 11:00 ROOM1_TEMP 11.4
2016-03-10 11:00 ROOM2_TEMP 18.23

In the above example, the property linked to the 'ROOM1_TEMP' label would get the value 11.4 when 11:00 on the 10th of March 2016 was requested.
