Installation: Debian-Based Linux (Unstable)
This guide indicates how you can install the unstable version of ARDI. This version has new features but may have significant bugs.
Unless you require the newer beta features, we strongly suggest using the stable version of the package.
This guide shows you how to install the unstable ARDI version on Debian-based variants of Linux, including our preferred variants, Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (for virtual machines and desktops) and Raspbian for Raspberry PI.
Optrix offer an installation package and an install script for installation onto these systems.
To perform an install, find the version you need in the table under 'Linux Variants' and follow the steps in a terminal window (or via SSH on a virtual or headless machine)…
- Download the script
sudo wget http://repo.optrix.com.au/installers/ubuntu_x64
- Change the scripts permissions so you can run it
sudo chmod u+x ubuntu_x64
- Execute the script
sudo ./ubuntu_x64
This will perform a full unattended installation - it will update all of the packages on the system, download and install both ARDI and all of its pre-requisites. It will also include some common additional content, such as drivers and popular addons.
Note that this script is intended for a brand new, clean system. It may overwrite or alter settings if your system offers other services.
