Duplicating An Asset
You can duplicate an asset from the detail page. Choose tools to find the 'Duplicate' button.
This function is particularly useful when you have a facility with a number of very similar units or sub-sections.
Note that there is a special naming system to handle object duplication - for information, see the asset guidelines.
In particular, any asset with a sequence number in its name (ie. #1, #2, #3 etc.) will have that sequence number increased when it is duplicated.
Sequence Relationship
We suggest creating a Sequence relationship. This should be a logical relationship that flows from the original (usually the first) asset, to each of the duplicates.
The 'Duplicate' page gives you a drop-down menu option where you can select which relationship (if any) you'd like to follow your duplication.
Duplicating Contents
When you duplicate an asset, it duplicates it and all of the assets contained within it in the Location hierarchy.
This means you can duplicate complex pieces of equipment.
When an assets contents are duplicated, any internal relationships (ie. the links between the equipment inside the asset) will point to the new, duplicated assets.
Duplicating a 3D Asset
As part of duplication, if your asset (or any of it's children) has a location property, you’ll be asked to physically move your items so that they no longer appear in the same places as your original assets.
