Overall
When you have a number of discrete values, a basic wall of status indicators is sometimes very useful, particularly if there’s a logical order to the layout of your display.
This very simple live visualisation creates a box for every property and shows the current value using both text and colour. It gives instant, at-a-glance indication of status across the assets, and is very useful when checking to ensure systems are set to the right mode before startup.
Example
This example shows the status of a large number of machines.
These machines – longwall mine roof supports – operate in a sequence from one end of the mine face to the other. If you watch the display, you should find colours slowly moving from the top-left to the bottom right, or vice-versa.
You can find this example on our longwall mine demo site.
Tips and Tricks
- If you have a logical sequence to place these assets in (ie. number order or the order the machines appear along your process), it will help the reader interpret where each of the values ‘fit’.
- Since ARDI includes colour-mapping details with query results, your visualisations will automatically update if you make changes to your colour scheme.
