What is ARDI?

ARDI stands for “Asset Relationship and Data Integrator”, a collection of advanced software applications that consolidate data from industrial project assets to extract powerful operational insights for businesses in the energy, utilities, steelmaking, mining and metals sectors.

Businesses that use ARDI unlock the complete value potential of their industrial data, allowing people to…

  • Work with greater safety and compliance,
  • Understand more about the current state of your plant and systems,
  • Make better-informed decisions,
  • Understand and review past events, and
  • Communicate more effectively throughout the organisation.

ARDI works in three key stages

Distribution

Distribution

1. Consolidation

ARDI begins by consolidating all your data from each of your individual knowledge management systems.

Consolidation can occur from a variety of systems including;

  • Monitoring and Control Systems
  • SCADA and Historian Systems
  • Alert Systems
  • Production Systems including scheduling, recipe management and operational models
  • Document Management Systems
  • Maintenance Systems
  • Human Resource System

ARDI doesn’t duplicate your data, it just makes it available in one place. This produces an up-to-date, ‘full picture’ of the asset to whoever and whatever needs that information. This includes live values, history, fixed details, documentation and more.

2. Analytics

Once data is consolidated, you’ve got the opportunity to really use it. We open up your data so it can be used with not just our own set of tools, a wide variety of commercial and open-source data platforms.

This isn’t just for calculating KPIs and totals – you can detect issues, spot abnormalities, predict events, build AI models that run side-by-side with your application, trigger instant alerts, notifications and reporting.

ARDI is designed to run on-site (cloud is strictly optional), and leaves all of your data where it already is. The data you use, analytics you perform, the models you make, the insights you generate are all yours to use the way you want to.

3. Distribution

For Managers

ARDI is flexible enough to let you make truly unique visualisations - reports, dashboards, videos, presentations and more can be created from your information, formatted to be easily understood, and distributed in a way that suits your workflow.

They are built using low-level, trusted data so that KPIs and metrics represent real-world conditions and provide greater insight.

And our consolidated data means you can easily automate a wide range of reports that were previously low-quality, time-consuming or impossible.

For the Field

People in the field have a huge impact on productivity, the shortest time to make decisions, the greatest personal risk - and often the worst access to information.

ARDI helps empower your people by providing a wide range of information (live data, history, manuals and videos) directly into the hands of staff when and where they need it through tools like Augmented Reality.

ARDI-360 creates a virtual site from photos that lets people plan activities or arrive on an unfamiliar site knowing exactly where equipment is and how to get to it.

For Operations

Operations staff need to understand more than averages and totals - they need detailed data if they are going to find opportunities for improvements in quality, production, utilisation and energy use.

ARDI has many modules targeted at operators, from live dashboards to special tools for root-cause and interaction analysis.

And we also offer ARDI-VE, our 3D, interactive plant visualisation that lets you see your plant, process and data, so users can see their live data and replay their history like never before.

For Other Systems

You don't get competitive advantage by doing everything the exact same way as everyone else.

ARDI isn't a closed ecosystem - it's a platform designed to be built on. We not only help you build data-driven, custom solutions quickly, but we can help overcome a traditional weakness of custom solutions - their fragility.

When built on ARDI, back-end changes only need to be made in one place - ARDI. Any solutions that use ARDI data keep working, even when your equipment and data sources have completely changed. In fact, you can often deploy a single solution across radically different sites.

Flexiblity

Flexibility

A key part of the ARDI design is flexibility.

It's the core philosophy of the entire ARDI system. We shouldn't be telling you what you have to do, we should be here to help you do what you want to do.

We're here to break the barriers that are locking you into vendors, keeping you out of knowledge silos, stopping people from sharing, communicating, understanding and learning from the information your organisation produces.

Everything is designed to be user-configurable and maintanable, even our 3D environments. Outside ARDIs core, you've can choose what features are relevant to you. Don't need AR? 3D doesn't interest you? These are purely optional and can be removed or added at any time.

We're application-agnostic, and fit in anywhere you have high-speed process data. ARDI can power solutions in manufacturing, mining, construction, utilities and many other sectors. This also helps us unify complex processes that have very different data and needs.

One down-side to our flexibility is that we don't have as many 'out-of-the-box' analytic solutions - we're not pushing ourselves as an OEE, process improvement, monitornig or optimisation platform. ARDI is more than capable of helping in those applications, but when you're down at the OT level and dealing with high-speed, real-world data, we've chosen to be adaptable.

As you push further to try and get more efficency and less waste, generic solutions can only take you so far. ARDI isn't a one-trick pony - it's a modular, adaptive platform that might need a little more effort, but it can help find value in the unique detail of your process, and can add so much more than just one type of value.

In ARDI, everything is an asset

What is an Asset?

Traditionally, industrial information management systems consider an “asset” to be a fixed piece of hardware – a particular item that you can touch or hold in your hand.

ARDI is more flexible.

In fact, in ARDI, anything and everthing can be an asset.

This not only means your pumps, valves, sensors and equipment, but departments, areas and even your human resources can be assets in ARDI.

If you value it enough to talk about it or keep data on it, you can include it in ARDI.
