Getting Started
How can I start using ARDI?
Starter Editionis our free edition of the ARDI platform, letting you get begin with small applications, either on-site or in your own cloud infrastructure.
Starter is just one of the three versions of ARDI, each of which is targeted at different sizes of application.
Although there are some restrictions in the Starter Edition, you have almost all of the features of a Standard Edition – except for the limit on the complexity and size of your system.
ARDI systems thrive on complexity – the more information you feed it, the more insight you can get out. So we’ve made it easy to move up from your Starter to a Standard license whenever you’d like to expand further.
Once you’ve made an account or signed in to our website, you’ll be able to download the ARDI installer onto your system. It’s available for Windows and Linux.
Installation is simple – you’re guided through the process on both platforms.
Because it’s web-based (meaning it can conflict with other products that use web communication), we suggest installing it on a clean system – such as on its own PC, embedded system or a virtual machine. Technically you will require Port 80 to be available, so any machine with Port 80 free, can be used to install ARDI.
ARDI servers are designed to run on secure operational networks, which often don’t have access to the Internet.
You’re now ready to start with ARDI.
It’s very possible to create ARDI applications fast – you can bring up simple ARDI systems in 15 minutes – but if you’re building something to last, it’s worth learning how to think about your ARDI systems.
Here’s our reading list for someone discovering ARDI for the first time…
Using ARDIs best-practises can seem like a waste of time on small-scale projects – but it will save you huge amounts of time on larger systems.
